Hello Everyone

We arrived at Fak Fak on 15/11/24. The place where we wanted to anchor was too close to overhead power lines and shipping movements so we had to anchor outside the harbour in 42 metres of water. Our boating  friends who read the Blog would understand that this is deep considering we only carry 110 metres of chain so we didn't have much scope. But fortunately the weather was calm for the days we were there and also you will see from one of the photos why we didn't  drag. But apart from that Fak Fak was a great place to visit except for the total alcohol ban. Yep we couldn't get a cold beer anywhere. We did have a great meal at the Grand Hotel and watched a huge rat  come in through the door and into the dinning  area and was probably on its way to the kitchen. Yum Yum.

Local street

Markets. Great produce

Local kids swam out to the boat every day to visit and sat on the swimming platform. On our last day we had 11 kids at the back of the boat.

Large lump of coral on the anchor. The anchor windlass was working hard lifting 42 metres of chain plus anchor and this lump of coral. I had to break it up with a hammer.
