Hello Everyone.
We arrived in Ternate on the 24/1/25 and spent a week there. It was longer than expected because we had to replace our outboard motor which was proving to be unreliable. We had to be towed back to our boat twice. We were lucky there were other yachts there to assist us because most of the time we are anchored by ourselves. It was no easy task buying a new outboard in Ternate were English is not spoken. Apart from that Ternate was a great place to visit and anchor near a active volcano which last erupted in 2015, apparently it erupts every 10 years. There is lot of Portuguese history there and that is why we visited a lot of Forts. The only down side to Ternate is there is no Alcohol. We have never left Port without Beer onboard. It is going to be a very sober trip for the next 4 weeks until we get to a port that sells Beer. We are now heading to Sulawesi which will take about 14 days Island hopping (500nm).
